The show tell's the story about the lives, problems and love stories of the Australian doctors nurses and their patients in the Australian outback.

It was a great success. All over the world you can find fans and fanclubs. There will be still re-runs broadcasted in different country's.

The series

The series The Flying Doctors were about all sorts of problems the flying doctors came across. There usually was a guest actor who had a disease, a problem or something else and the Flying Doctors came to the rescue. There were also longer story lines like the romance and wedding of sister Kate Wellings and doctor Geoff Standish. Every episode had some drama and some humour. It was never too bloody but it was never too predictable either. Unfortunately in the last season you could notice that the writers were thing about to stop with the show. There was not happening a lot anymore.

Where is the Flying Doctors filmed?

The small town where all story's took place is called Coopers Crossing. A lot of sites tell it does'nt exist. Well i can tell you it does ! I have been there ! The town is in real called Minyip. It is an three hour car drive from Melbourne. Now a days you will find also road signs to Minyip with " Coopers Crossing, home of teh Flying Doctors.

But most of the scenes are filmed in the studios in Melbourne. The airstrip scenes are filmed in Broken Hill and Point Cook

The nomad is now a memorial to the show and you can find the nomad at the base of Royal Flying Doctors Service in Broken Hill. You can als so see it on of my pictures that i have made.
